Introducing Venmo and Dwolla, Cheap and Easy Payments Online or On Device

venmo

Here are two new-to-me companies that offer easy payments with little or no fees. This instantly turned me onto their services because I’m tired of being f#@&ed charged ridiculous fees by Paypal.

Lets start with Venmo. I think it’s still invite only but I was invited and just finished my first transaction, a received payment(Yes!). By far the best feature with Venmo is that you can pay or get paid by anyone, and it connects with Facebook. With a super simple-to-use system and quick transfers to and from banks, it’s easy as a Lohan. It also has social integrated through out, you can comment on transactions, split a bill between friends, or send gas money to your little sister. If you’d like to check it out, let me know and I’ll personally send you an invite so that you can utilize this awesome payment tool.

On to the next one…

dwolla

Welcome Dwolla of recent fame, who’s aim is to replace those pesky credit cards who charge fees on purchases. It’s basically like a currency exchange between members that costs a flat rate of 25 cents per transaction. Think about that, have you EVER had a transaction only cost you 25 cents with either your credit card or Paypal? Retailers are starting to adopt Dwolla, you can use it to buy your coffee and other items at certain businesses. Check out their blog for what’s new with this fast growing and recently venture funded company. You pretty much connect it with your bank account then give, accept, request, or send money. Easy stuff, no credit card fees. Only bummer is that I don’t think Dwolla helps your credit score.
